Conférence Qumrân Lions Club Montigny les 3 Villages

Did you like Qumran, the Dead Sea Scrolls Revealed? So did the Lions Club Montigny les 3 Villages: I have been invited to come and give a conference on the same theme.

Who lived in Qumran? Who wrote these manuscripts? In what way did they revolutionize the study of the Bible? Were Jesus and his disciples at Qumran?… There are some of the questions that will be answered.

Qumran

On the occasion of the Qumran exhibition at the National Library, I answered Laurent Héricher’s questions on the Dead Sea Scrolls and their contribution to our knowledge of the Bible and ancient Judaism.

He notably asked me about the variant readings that are attested among biblical manuscripts, the popularity of some books that are called “apocrypha” and “pseudepigrapha” (such as the book of Enoch or Jubilees), and the notion of “canon” of Scriptures.
