I am in Israel at the invitation of the Bar-Ilan University Jeselsohn Epigraphic Center, which hosts an international conference on Jewish religion in light of new inscriptions and papyri.

On the occasion of this conference, I will present several unpublished palaeo-Hebrew ostraca that shed new light on ancient Israelite religion.

Ostraca are pottery shards that have been recycled as writing material, such as the Aramaic ostracon from the fourth century BCE that I published last year.

If you want to know more about these new palaeo-Hebrew ostraca, come to Bar-Ilan Sunday, May 19 at 9 AM!

For more information, please read the program (PDF).
