I am in Israel to work on new Aramaic ostraca discovered in Maresha.

The archaeological site of Maresha has yielded hundreds of Aramaic ostraca. Among them, a group seems especially difficult to decipher. My Israel colleague, Esther Eshel, director of the Epigraphic Center at Bar-Ilan University, who is in charge of the publication of these inscriptions, invited me to come and help her in this task.

I will tell you more about these texts (more than two millenia old) once they have been deciphered! 😉
